An Historic Inn

Built circa 1850s, the Margaret Holland Inn was first home to “Miss Kit” who lived there into her eighties. It was sold in 1928 to Mrs. Margaret Holland Connarn, who turned the colonial-style home into an inn, naming it in honor of her grandparents who came to this country at the time the railway began service through Northfield. We are grateful to Mrs. Connarn for preserving the charm of this old New England home, while doing extensive renovations such as the spacious wrap-around porch and lovely sun porch.

Located in the Heart of the Village

Northfield is a picturesque New England village nestled in a peaceful valley in the Green Mountains of Central Vermont.
Settled in 1785, Northfield is home to five covered bridges, many historic homes and churches, Memorial Park pool and playground, and Norwich University, the nation’s oldest private military college.
The Inn is minutes from the village green encircled by local shops, businesses, and eateries and is just three-tenths of a mile from the University.
